2004 PLAYERS OF THE YEAR

GLOUCESTERSHIRE YOUNG CRICKETER OF THE YEAR AWARDS (UNDER 12 AGE GROUP).

Batsman of the year :-													
We decided to give this award to the top scorer for the team, over the 10 games.																
However, as extras with 284 is not available to receive the award we are happy to																
give it to the second top scorer.																
																
A young batsman who has a variety of shots, had an excellent first half of the season,																
but suffered with the pressures to do well and exceed expectations. He is good company																
and almost always happy, he will be now….. Our batsman of the year is :-																
																
			BUSTER LAWRENCE.					
																
																
Bowler of the year :-																
																
It would be very easy to make this award to the top wicket taker. However, when we 																
looked at the statistics we decided that this award should go to an opening bowler																
who works hard at his game and has excellent potential. Not a big wicket taker but																
bowled at an average of 2.33 runs per over, which we felt was a significant achievement.

All Rounder of the year :-																
																
A little cheeky chappy who is gutsy, chirpy and throws himself around in the field																
setting a good example and not afraid of the hard ball. Bowls as well although he was 																
not used that much. Bats with determination, can be patient and is prepared to fight it																
out. He also ended up second in the batting averages.
